Josefa began her musical education at age 6 at the Johann Strauss School of Music, Malta, and also started attending clarinet lessons with Godfrey Mifsud. Until successfully completing her course with a Diploma II in 2020, Josefa also used to participate in various ensembles & orchestras within the school.
Josefa has taken part in various festivals & masterclasses including the Victoria International Arts Festival, Aberystwyth Musicfest, Saxophone & Clarinet Festival, Modern Composers Festival & The Maltese Islands Festival (1st place in category 2017, 2019). She also won New Names Malta (2015), & consequently performed in Cologne. Josefa also placed 1st in her category in the Charles Camilleri National Music Festival Competition (2018) & was given a scholarship to the Summer Music Academy in Vienna (2019).
Josefa has worked with several clarinetists including David Campbell, Roberto Meoni, Dmitry Schenker, Fabrizio Meloni, Harry Cameron-Penny, Laura Magistrelli, Sasha Danilov, Reinhard Wieser, & Riccardo Crocilla. From 2016 to 2021, she performed with the Malta Youth Orchestra under renowned conductors like Peter Stark, Sergey Smbatyan, & Darrell Ang. In 2018, Josefa also joined the Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra on their 2018 tour in Prague performing under the baton of Robert Hodge.
In January 2024, Josefa was also invited to perform at the inaugural reception 2024 Chairpersonship of Malta to the OSCE Permanent Council at the Wien Welt Museum in Vienna, Austria.
