Stefanie is a theatre practitioner currently reading for a PhD in Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Galway, Ireland. Her research is focused on interrogating themes of identity, language, and nation in the theatre of Malta and Ireland. Alongside the final PhD thesis, Stefanie is also using her research time to write an original script in English and Maltese that addresses these themes. As part of her academic journey, she has presented papers on her research at conferences in Ireland, England, and Belgium.
Outside of her academic work, Stefanie is involved in the theatre scenes of both Malta and Ireland as a performer and a writer. She trained under the guidance of Denise Mulholland for several years as a member of TMYT and Jean-Marc Cafa at Studio18. Recent achievements include the production of her play 'Re/Connect' at Theatre Next Door in Malta, and she was involved in the Macnas Halloween Parade as a street performer in Galway and Dublin.
