SCHOLAR DESCRIPTION

André Buhagiar is an actor who graduated Leeds Conservatoire with an MA in Musical Theatre and holds a BA (Hons) Musical Theatre from the University of Lincoln. They have had the opportunity to perform at venues such as London’s The Other Palace and with National Youth Music Theatre in the new musical 'The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean in an Armchair' at The Curve in Leicester. Other credits include the titular Quasimodo in 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' and Bobby Strong in 'Urinetown'.

In Malta, André has formed part of Teatru Manoel Youth Theatre and Teatru Salesjan's Company One Eleven. They have also performed in The Addams Family and at Teatru Manoel in the world premiere of 'Corto Maltese: The Ballad of the Salty Sea'.

André is passionate about creating new musicals, particularly those featuring queer representation, having participated in the research & development of 'Chasing Icarus' by Carlo Bosticco and Matt Randall, and 'Folklore' by Rob Green while at Leeds Conservatoire. They are immensely grateful to the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation for all their support.
