Lucas Garcia Conrad

SCHOLAR DESCRIPTION

Lucas Garcia Conrad,16, is a student of Brazilian violist Alexandre Razera. He obtained his ARSM Diploma in 2022. Lucas was a member of the Malta Youth Orchestra and has given solo recitals in Malta as part of the Victoria International Arts Festival, the International Spring Orchestra Festival and the Music and More series. He participated in the Demos Orchestra project in 2022, performing at the Philharmonie in Paris and the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès as well as the European Parliament in Strasbourg. In 2023 he was the first Maltese musician to be selected for the Concertgebouw Young Orchestra, where he performed under Andrés Orozco-Estrada at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. In September 2023 he was awarded first prize in the string category of the 14th Bice Mizzi Vassallo National Music Competition. In November of the same year he was invited to Mahler Student Festival Orchestra in Brussels for a performance of Mahler´s 9th Symphony. In March 2024 he was the first Maltese to be selected for the prestigious Verbier Festival in Switzerland, where he joined the Junior Orchestra, kindly supported by BOV Foundation. Following that he attended a course at the Festival Duchi DÁcquaviva in Atri, Italy as part of the BMV Competition prize. Here he also won the 3rd edition of the International Competition “Note di Talento - Il Solista e lÓrchestra“ and performed as soloist with the orchestra at Atrí’s Teatro Communale.
