Kurt Falzon is a 21-year-old Maltese violinist currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in violin at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague (NL) under the guidance of Ms Vera Beths.
Kurt has been a member of the Malta Youth Orchestra for six years and has interned with the MPO. He has performed with many ensembles in Malta and abroad and has featured as a soloist with several orchestras, including the world-famous Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra following his winning of the 'Spotlight Concours' in Amsterdam.
Kurt's music ventures have taken him to perform in some of the most renowned concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall (New York), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and Konzerthaus (Berlin). With orchestras, he has had the opportunity to work with distinguished conductors like Iván Fischer, Gianandrea Noseda, Ivan Meylemans and Johannes Klumpp.
Kurt is passionate about chamber music and the holistic music-making experience it offers. He actively seeks opportunities to perform in various chamber group formations and has had the privilege of performing alongside globally acclaimed musicians like Rosanne Philippens, Georgy Kovalev and Quirine Viersen. He has also collaborated with professional chamber orchestras, including the Folkwang Kammerorkest Essen.
Recent achievements include winning 2nd prize at the 'Rijmond Muziekprijs', performing on national Dutch TV, playing a recital at the Concertgebouw Kleine Zaal and becoming a member of the 2024 European Union Youth Orchestra.
