Ian Ellul

SCHOLAR DESCRIPTION

Ian Ellul started playing the violin at the age of eight. He was tutored by Ms. Lydia Micallef Sanchez for 8 years at the Johann Strauss School of Music. Afterwards, he continued his studies under the tuition of Mr. Mario Bisazza were with his guidance, Ian obtained the Violin Dip. ABRSM.

In December 2017, he started studying with Ms. Agnieszka Kuzma. Ian Ellul has been a member of the Malta Youth Orchestra since December 2012. He has also played in collaboration with the Hvitfeldtska Musikgymnasiet Symphony Orchestra, in Malta. In October 2015 he joined the Juniour College Orchestra and in May 2016 he participated in a festival held in Martigues, France. Ian Ellul participated in masterclasses with Mr. Carmine Lauri, Mr. Gyorgy Lakatos, Mr. Yuri Zhislin, Mr. Mauro Tortorelli, Mr. Karen Shahgaldyan; to mention a few. In 2016, he participated in BISYOC (an international youth orchestral camp) which was held in Ludlow, United Kingdom. He was chosen to be an intern with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for the orchestral seasons 2017/2018, 2018/2019. Ellul joined the MPO for orchestral tours in America, Russia and Italy. He then studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels for five academic years in the class of Mr. Kowalski and has obtained his Masters degree.
